Feeding the pup

Dog needs a balanced diet of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals and water. Generally dogs take longer period to digest food. It makes sense that the dog’s gastric juice may require more time to sufficiently break down food. Pet dog needs only 24% of protein in the ration. This can be supplemented with meat, fish, cheese, cooked egg, Soya bean meal or ready made protein supplements. Carbohydrate is supplemented through rice, cereals and milk. Fat is available in milk, cheese, egg and meat. Over feeding with meat puts great strain on the kidneys. Avoid the habit of feeding your new puppy uncooked egg. Uncooked egg causes Vitamin A deficiency in dogs. Continuous feeding of raw egg may produce hair loss, dermatoses and poor growth.
